Vignette: Trench war in WWI (1/72)

Unfortunately I never got round to finishing this WW1 trench vignette

I lost interest in this project when I realized I had put the wooden planks in the wrong way: vertical instead of horizontal.

The running figure is from Revell's WW1 set, the other is a conversion from Ceasar's german infantry.
I changed puttees and helmet and added a greatcoat from lead foil.

Nice way to imitate leaves? If I only knew...

Had a bunch of dried flowers on my window board and after some days I saw they were dropping some kind of seed that really good resembles 1/72 scale leaves.
What a shame I don't know the name of the flower.

Detailling the .50 cal machine gun

Now to the fun part: Detailling the machine gun. Fiddly but funny.

Not much to say about that

Turret mount

Yes, it is small...

Final look on the model

Detailling the Matchbox M7 Priest in 1/76

After returning to my former hobby of building smallscale plastic models, I wanted to have a quick build to get the feeling for modelling again and practise a bit.Well I should have known before: some modellers just can't build models without detailling them, so here we go.

I removed the shallow plastic and replaced them with wire.
Flattened the front, added light mounts, electric cable and armored visor

See the little bolts on the visor hatch

The '80ies style engine deck with molded-on tools just didn't look good, so I decided to rebuild it from scratch

Sheet styrene, small mesh and metal foil used to rebuild the details

Built stowing boxes from thin sheet metal

This is how it looks with the rails, tools and towing cable attached

Added bolts

Minor detailling on the bogies

Replaced the bulky ammo racks with some built from metal foil

Looks much better now !

Really did't like the stowage boxes, so the recieved a new lid and photo etched clasps (the only PE part used on this model !)

Fasteners for the rifles

Details of the left side

rebuilt the solid plastic engine access

Detailling the gun

Made new handwheels from copper wire

This is how the model looks now

Berlin defenders and civilians (1/72)

Here are some more figures from different sets.

This one is from the Orion "Volkssturm" Set,
armed with many stick grenades, wearing an old fashion army jacket and SS camo trouser

Officer from first edition of the Odemars "defenders of Berlin" set.
PF07 is the bad quality first try. The later PF17 set seems to be much better.

After conversion with new boots, a lot of carving and a Preiser MP40. Doesn't look that bad, eh? Splinter pattern still is too big though.

Civilians, mostly from the Preiser "Refugee" set.
The brunette woman is from Caesar "Partisan" set, the blonde woman is from Pegasus "Berlin".

Closeup of the Preiser boy

Walking Preiser figure converted to depict a war-disabled veteran.

Badly sculpted tanker, probably Esci or Hasegawa.
I just used it to practice my splinter painting skills.

Volkssturm figures (1/72)

Had the idea to try and paint some figures. This time Volkssturm members.

The first figure was converted from the Pegasus set "Defenders of Berlin"

This one is from Ceasar Set "Partisans"

This is the Schatton Panzerschreck. Turned brass barrel, photo etched parts and some thin wire for the detailling.

Pantherstellung (Matchbox 1/72)

This is the old Matchbox Panther I believe.
I am going to convert this into a so called "Pantherstellung".
These are dug-in Panther tanks used as armored emplacements to defend important places in Berlin.
