Detailling the Matchbox M7 Priest in 1/76

After returning to my former hobby of building smallscale plastic models, I wanted to have a quick build to get the feeling for modelling again and practise a bit.Well I should have known before: some modellers just can't build models without detailling them, so here we go.

I removed the shallow plastic and replaced them with wire.
Flattened the front, added light mounts, electric cable and armored visor

See the little bolts on the visor hatch

The '80ies style engine deck with molded-on tools just didn't look good, so I decided to rebuild it from scratch

Sheet styrene, small mesh and metal foil used to rebuild the details

Built stowing boxes from thin sheet metal

This is how it looks with the rails, tools and towing cable attached

Added bolts

Minor detailling on the bogies

Replaced the bulky ammo racks with some built from metal foil

Looks much better now !

Really did't like the stowage boxes, so the recieved a new lid and photo etched clasps (the only PE part used on this model !)

Fasteners for the rifles

Details of the left side

rebuilt the solid plastic engine access

Detailling the gun

Made new handwheels from copper wire

This is how the model looks now
